Hello, I'm Sarah, the creator and owner of The Vintage Tea Service, my wonderful boutique vintage china hire business.  I thought I'd let you know a little about myself and how The Vintage Tea Service came into existence.

I'm a full-time secondary school teacher by trade, working in Cheshire, but I'm a South Coast girl at heart, lover of the sea, coming from Fareham in Hampshire, I did my degree up here, went home afterwards, worked at Southampton Technical College (as it was then) and then found myself here in Cheshire, and I've been here ever since.  I took some time off a few years ago to take part in The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, which was an incredible challenge, it completely changed my outlook on life. And so I decided to start up a business, I quit my perfectly good job to do supply teaching four days a week, so that I could work on the business one day a week.  Unfortunately I decided to do all of this, (unbeknown to me) just before the start of the pandemic.  The agency didn't furlough me and as a consequence the funds I had set aside to get the business going then had to fund me through 9 months of no income.  I had to then go back into full-time teaching and forget about that business idea.

So how did I get into vintage china, well unbelievably one Saturday evening it just popped into my head, "I'm going to hire out vintage china."  And here we are,  I love china and I love pretty things and also love 'nostalgia', so I put the three together and that's how The Vintage Tea Service came into existence.  From a very early age I've had any eye for gorgeousness and vintage china has become my retail therapy, I can't help myself!!!
