The Mad Hatter said, "It's time for tea!".

The Vintage Tea Service says, "It most certainly is!!" One caveate, if the tea isn't served in a fine English bone china teacup, it's a crime against tea!!
If you haven't already guessed it, the clients wedding breakfast was an 'Alice in Wonderland themed and hosted at the beautiful xxx.
When I arrived at the venue, the wedding cake l was already out and quite frankly it left me speechless!! What an incredible and beautiful design, that encapsulates everything about Alice in Wonderland and a Mad Hatters Tea Party.

With a cornucopia of colour, the clients wanted each of their guests to have a different teacup, saucer and tea plate to really enhance the 'Alice' theme. I worked on a palette of true Wonderland colours, the beautiful pinks, blues, gold and ppale tones, plus with a few cheeky add-ins.

These add-ins came about during the latter planning stage, I was lucky enough to find these amazing polka dot trios; fun, bright and perfect for this wedding. Plus I had other fun and pretty teacups that worked with the theme and I wanted to include, so a cheeky splash of green sneaked into the palette.

You can see the bride enjoying a cup of tea.

What Designs did I go for?
With seventy-five guests, I decided to opt for about twenty four designs. I didn't want to use the more formal teacups, but tried to go for more 'fun' designs, tying into the concept and palette.
My top 9 designs were the following.
My absolute favourites were the polka dot trios and the middle row of this gallery. The far left just screamed Alice in Wonderland to me.
The 3 tier cake stands I kept quite plain. The emphasis needed to be on the teacups, saucers and tea plates. The clients wanted a different mix on each table, so again I opted for multiples.
With each cake stand come vintage glass or crystal dishes for clotted cream and jam. Traditional a dessert dish I use them because they are a perfect size. The serving spoons are fruit spoons. If you're as old as me your Granny or Nanny would have had a set. I love them and they're very nostalgic.

Also included in the package were an eclectic mix of teapots, cream jugs and sugar bowls.
And to finish with some final words from Alice....
"I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then."

How very apt for a wedding.
