Think Four Weddings and a Funeral and you'll have my dream wedding - a country house with magnificent gardens, on a glorious summer's day, with the smell of summer blooms through the air; hearing the chink of china and the clink of Champagne coupes with the background noise of happy chatter and laughter. Perfect!! For those born in the noughties, think Bridgerton, come Downton and you'll get the vibe.
The key to emulating this look is to make sure you use vintage china throughout, whether for a glorious sit down dinner or a wonderfully delicious Afternoon Tea. Once you go off-piste with the china the look and feel are both ruined. The china is the central player in the wedding breakfast!!
With a theme of forest green, sage, lilac and shades of pink the concept for this wedding shoot truly epitomises an English country garden in the heady months of summer. Pink isn't for everyone, but it truly pulls the look together, and is a fabulous accent colour. Pink adds a softness, you can break it up with the forest and sage greens, in this case the beautiful florals on the table, balanced with the country house lawns and gardens and throw in some cream with the 3 tier cake stands and you're set.
If you want elegance, vintage bone china is the only crockery that's going to do give you that; it's beautiful, adding so much joie de vie to the tables, what better accompaniment to celebrate a wedding, whether with a main meal, dessert and tea and coffee or by sitting down to the wonderful English tradition of Afternoon Tea. Add in the wine and Champagne stemware by Clink Crystalware @clink.crystalware and your tables will look stunning.
Or may be you prefer to offer a relaxed buffet/tea station table to tied guests over (above image) until a traditional main meal and dessert (below), served on dinner plates supplied by The Vintage Tea Service (see the china list at the bottom of this article).
And to bring all of the concepts together, watch this video.
